A crucial element of the Guam Transportation Program (GTP) development is community involvement. The primary goal of the GTP Community Outreach Plan is to provide and distribute information to stakeholders and to solicit input and develop general public support for the island wide transportation plan.

Strategies, approaches and techniques were developed and executed for each stage of the various milestones in the Guam Transportation planning process. Over 50 stakeholder presentations, briefings and public meetings were held over the past 16 months. The stakeholders included local and federal government groups as well as business, civic and private industry groups. Public meetings were held in the north central and southern villages to include displays at the Micronesian Mall as well as presentations to the Mayor’s Council of Guam and individual mayors.

Electronic and printed media have supported the outreach efforts through stories and coverage of the plan and the various projects that are already starting. Updates to our community can be heard live on AM radio Station K57 every Wednesday at 2:30 PM on the Travis Coffman Show.
